CTIA DIRECTOR AND INSTRUCTOR - Dennis Kennedy
Dennis Kennedy is President and Director of Training for the Institute. He has more than 30 years experience as a weapons and tactics Instructor. He has served in the military as an Army Special Forces weapons NCO, Military Police SRT Instructor and Air Force Security Forces SRT Leader.
As a Peace Officer, he worked in Utah and California depts. where he served in patrol, jail, vice, warrants and K9. He is a Utah POST certified Instructor as well as certified NRA Law Enforcement Patrol Rifle Instructor. He is also certified as an Instructor in Taser, OC, Defensive Tactics, Impact weapons and PPCT and Explosive Detection Dog Handler. |

INSTRUCTOR - Pat Burden
Pat Burden has instructed and trained in traditional Japanese Martial Arts for over 30 years, He is an NRA and Utah BCI certified Firearms Instructor. He has completed numerous firearms and tactical training courses in Handgun, Rifle ( AR and AK systems) here at CTIA, at Frontsight and Zion’s Defense.
As a private Instructor Pat is able to attend 10 TIMES more training annually than Utah police officers.
Pat’s many years of martial and firearms training gives him the ability to bring state of the art training techniques to the Institute. |

Rich is an Eagle Scout and Veteran police Officer with more than 14 years experience. He currently works for a police dept. in N. Utah. Rich holds a wealth of experience that he loves to pass along to other good citizens. Rich is a highly experienced Instructor with numerous professional certifications, including:
- Police officer with assignments in DARE, patrol, SWAT
- Olympic Public Safety Command
- SWAT certified officer and Asst. Team Leader
- International Police Advisor to the Afghan National Police Academy
- Utah POST Handgun Instructor
- Utah POST Long Gun Firearms Instructor

Instructors Wanted !
The Institute is seeking applicants as firearms Instructors to help us teach our courses. Candidates should be well qualified and experienced. An NRA certification in multiple weapons is required. Additional certifications with POST, Military, FBI, etc is desirable. All positions are Adjunct/Part Time contractors along the Wasatch Front area.
