Dennis Kennedy is President and Director of Training for the Institute. He has more than 30 years experience as a weapons and tactics Instructor. He has served in the military as an Army Special Forces weapons NCO, Military Police SRT Instructor and Air Force Security Forces SRT Leader.
As a Peace Officer, he worked in Utah and California depts. where he served in patrol, jail, vice, warrants and K9. He is a Utah POST certified Instructor as well as certified NRA Law Enforcement Patrol Rifle Instructor. He is also certified as an Instructor in Taser, OC, Defensive Tactics, Impact weapons and PPCT and Explosive Detection Dog Handler.

TJ has instructed firearms and tactics since 1987. He served as a US Marine Sniper in support of Operation Desert Storm and has served in several deployments during his service in the USMC. He has served in SWAT and has supervised as SWAT team leader.
Pat Burden has instructed and trained in traditional Japanese Martial Arts for over 30 years, He is an NRA and Utah BCI certified Firearms Instructor. He has completed numerous firearms and tactical training courses in Handgun, Rifle ( AR and AK systems) here at CTIA, at Frontsight and Zion’s Defense.
As a private Instructor Pat is able to attend 10 TIMES more training annually than Utah police officers.
Pat’s many years of martial and firearms training gives him the ability to bring state of the art training techniques to the Institute.
M.B. is an Army Special Forces Weapons NCO. He has completed real world deployments to Thailand, Cambodia and Afghanistan. In addition to his deployments he has completed military schools including:

Layne Hilton is a Capt. with a metro fire agency. He is currently a Firefighter/Paramedic and Tactical Medic with a county SWAT team.
Capt. Hilton is an Instructor for the Paramedic program at Univ. of Utah and the Tactical Medic program at Weber State Univ.
Capt. Hilton is very highly training in HAZ-MAT as a Technician and Chemical, Nuclear and Biological threats. He has attended numerous technical courses with DEA, FEMA and Homeland Security.
Capt. Hilton teaches our Trauma courses as an Adjunct Instructor
