Institute Instructors are available by appointment for individuals and small group who would rather have personal instruction rather than attend a public class. Instructor is available in handgun, shotgun, rifle and full auto weapons.
All instruction is defensive in nature.
Personal instruction fees begin at $50.00 per hour with a 2 hour minimum PLUS all range/target fees.
This is a 1-day, hands on all shooting course. It is designed to teach shooters to effectively take game at distances of over 100 yards. The course is held at the Global One Complex, Fairfield, Utah in Utah County.
The course will teach the average shooter long range rifle skills such as:
Range estimation
Wind doping/estimation
Bullet drop compensation
Various shooting position
Understanding D.O.P.E. and how to record it
Long range marksmanship skills.
Students will be shooting all day from a variety of positions.
Tuition INCLUDES all range fees, targets, instruction, and catered lunch plus a certificate of training from the Institute.

This is a comprehensive and somewhat intense 1-day course for people who already have some defensive shooting experience. You will have the opportunity to learn more and hone your defensive shooting skills during realistic drills. Course content includes:

Performing speed/emergency reloads
Getting off the X
Firing from unusual positions and from cover

This course is an intense and comprehensive course of instruction in the use of the rifle/carbine for self defense situations. It is NOT for novice shooters. You must already possess some level of skill with your rifle in order to attend. Police, Military and Security personnel will receive the NRA Law Enforcement Patrol Rifle certification upon completion.

Shooting from unusual positions
Shooting from various forms of cover

Course Instructors are Nationally certified NRA LE Patrol Rifle Instructors, Utah POST and/or local SWAT Instructors. Equipment needed is Any multi-shot rifle/carbine with a sling, handgun and holster, minimum of 5 magazines per rifle, 3 for pistol. Bring 1,000 rounds of practice ammo for the rifle and 150 rounds for handgun. Personally reloaded ammunition is not permitted. Bring a good flashlight or weapon light, knee and elbow pads.

This short, intense 4 hour course covers the basics of using the rifle or carbine as a defensive tool. The course will cover the most important aspects of rifle skills, including:

This is an ALL SHOOTING course. Any type of rifle is acceptable. Bring your AR-15, AK, Winchester or even your 10/22 if that is what you have. We will teach you how to fight with it. Shooters will need about 250 rounds of rifle ammo and a means or carrying your ammo or magazines along with the manual and cleaning kit for your weapon. Classes are held regardless of weather. Dress for it.

The Urban Rifle course is a fast paced, 1-day (8 hours) training event geared towards law enforcement, corrections, military and security agencies but is open to anyone without a criminal conviction. The drills and tactics you will learn will give you the skills and knowledge to use a rifle or carbine in a self defense situation. It is a basic course. The student should already possess good basic marksmanship skills.

Special Equipment needed is any weapon system of any caliber (even .22s) with a sling, handgun and holster, minimum of 3 magazines per weapon. Bring a minimum of 500 rounds of rifle ammo, 100 rounds pistol ammo, cleaning kits, flashlight. Knee and elbow pads are recommended.
FBI statistics prove that more than 80% of all lethal confrontations take place in low light situations. This is true whether you are a cop, soldier or housewife defending your home. This course will teach you the most modern low light shooting tactics & techniques that will help you survive a low light confrontation! This is the same block of instruction that we give to local police and military units. Topics will include:
How to select proper lighting tools

Various LIVE FIRE shooting techniques
Loading, unloading and clearing stoppages in the dark
White light employment tactics/techniques

Most Lethal encounters occur in low light situations. This is true whether you are a police officer on the beat, a soldier in combat or an armed citizen. This important training will teach you some of the latest low light techniques that you need to survive a violent confrontation. Topics include:

Three days long, 36 hours total. This is a comprehensive entry level course to introduce persons interested to the field of Dignitary Protection. The course includes LONG training days of at least 12 hours. Topics include: handgun skills, movement drills, cover and evacuation drills, motorcade operations, weapons retention/disarming, unarmed defense. A written exam, shooting test, advance survey and practical field exercise must be successfully completed in order to become certified. It is a gross myth that professional operators must be male or very large and powerful. FALSE! Anyone of average size can learn these skills.
TERROR 101 - SUICIDE BOMBER PREVENTION and RESPONSE

THIS CLASS HAS BEEN FEATURED ON KSL TV NEWS FOR ITS OUTSTANDING HELP TO THE COMMUINITY. WE OFFER THIS CLASS FREE OF CHARGE TO HELP EDUCATE OUR COMMUNITY AGAINST THREATS AND HOW TO RESPOND.
This 4 hr. course was developed by the Dept. of Homeland Security for the general public. It outlines who the terrorists are, what the goals are and how they plan to operate in our communities. They may use bombs. They may also use snipers, construction vehicles, aircraft or tanker trucks. As good citizens we should all be aware of what these activities may look like and how to report them before they occur. A certificate of training from the Dept. of Homeland Security is awarded to each person who completes the course.
Tuition: FREE. This course is offered free of charge as a community service.
Class will be held at the renowned Urban Warfare Center, N. SLC, Utah.
This 8 hour hands on course provides instruction to the average non medical person in treating serious trauma injuries, including gun shot wounds. Topics include: patient assessment, hemorrhage control, airway techniques, carries and lifts, triage. No medical training is required to take this course. Local police SWAT and/or military special operations medics teach this course. Realistic special effects make-up and simulated blood/injuries are used along with sound. Music, sirens and other special effects are used to induce stress.
This is a 7 hr. course designed to teach the basic principles of handgun retention. That is to say the HOW TO of preventing someone from taking your handgun away from you and how to take it back if they do. Physical hands on drills are conducted with weapons in the hand and in the holster. Training is done both standing and on the ground. Although somewhat physical, the average person can complete the course. Live firearms are not permitted. Inert training guns are provided.
